The aircraft [TS-LBB] was on a scheduled passenger flight from Bari, Italy to Djerba, Tunisia. While flying off the coast of Palermo, the crew reported that the twin turboprop had developed engine problems, and at 3:24pm local time, requested an emergency approach and landing at Palermo. The aircraft was unable to make it to Palermo, and ditched into the sea around 3:40pm, some 15 miles off the coast.
