Date: 25 October 2002
Airline: Atlantic Coast Airlines
Flight No.: 719
Aircraft: Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ)
Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA
Fatalities: 0:32

Photographer: Anonymous

The aircraft, operating as Atlantic Coast Airlines flight 719, was struck by an airport employee bus traveling approximately 30 miles per hour as it taxied on taxiway Bravo to runway 4L for takeoff at O'Hare. The driver of the crew bus reportedly never saw the approaching CRJ in the dark nightime conditions, and failed to yield at a roadway/taxiway intersection. Noone on either the bus or the aircraft was seriously injured, although the both aircraft crewmembers, and two passengers from the bus were kept overnight in local hospitals for observation. The aircraft involved, N681BR, was less than two weeks old at the time of the accident, and will likely be written off as a result of the collision.
