The aircraft [EX-037], on a scheduled passenger flight from Herat to Kabul, went missing shortly before landing at Kabul Airport in a heavy snowstorm. Wreckage was reportedly found about 12 hours later in mountainous terrain northwest of Kabul. Kam Air is the only privately held airline operating in Afghanistan
