| The aircraft departed Sacramento's Mather Field on a scheduled cargo flight to
Dayton, Ohio. Shortly after takeoff, the crew reported a flight control problem to
Sacramento Terminal Radar Control (TRACON), and requested vectors to return to
Mather Field for an emergency landing. While turning onto final approach for runway
22R at 7:52pm local time, the aircraft lost control and crashed into an auto salvage
yard. Possible in-flight cargo shift, or aircraft mechanical failure. |
