The aircraft was undergoing an operational maintenance check at Milan-Malpensa Airport when the technician retracted the landing gear. The technician had not inserted the nose landing gear pin, and the gear retracted, causing the aircraft to come to rest on its nose.
The photographer, Bart Noëth writes: "I had to take these pictures very fast because the technician was running after me and shouting in Italian: "no fato photo!!", same as: "Do not make a picture!!"
