The aircraft crashed on landing
at La Guardia Airport during a thunderstorm. The aircraft descended below
glidepath, and the landing gear was sheared off by a retaining wall at the
beginning of the runway. Skidding down the runway, the aircraft turned 180°
and came to rest on its belly.
