The aircraft had departed ten minutes prior to the accident from Princess Juliana Airport on the Dutch/French island of St. Maarten for the short journey to Saint-Barthélémy. While on approach to Runway 10 (2,170 feet long), the aircraft impacted terrain and a house, killing all seventeen passengers, two crew, and a man on the ground. Weather at the time of the accident was reported to be CAVUL.
