Shortly after takeoff from runway 27 (3500ft) on a scheduled passenger flight to Windsor, Ontario, the Captain issued a mayday call. The aircraft landed on the frozen surface of Lake Erie, sliding across the ice for approximately 300 meters, before breaking through the ice and becoming submerged in 26 feet of water.
