The aircraft overran the runway while landing in heavy rain conditions precipitated by Tropical Storm Keith. Visibility was reported to be greater than three miles, and the crew reported that the landing was normal, until the aircraft began to hydroplane on the wet runway surface. The aircraft impacted several homes, killing a mother and her three children, before coming to rest in a drainage ditch.
