Fine Air Flight
101
This DC-8-62F crashed on takeoff from Miami
International Airport after improperly secured cargo slid rearward on rotation,
causing an uncorrectable pitch-up tendancy. The aircraft stalled in a severe
nose-high attitude, crashed into a field, and slid across busy 72nd Avenue,
coming to rest against a row of businesses across the road. The store that
took a direct hit from the airplane was Micro Macro Mundo, a model railroad
supply company. The store's owner, William Bartomeu, his wife, and several
customers were trapped inside after the accident. In this AirDisaster.Com

Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight
182
This Boeing 727-200 crashed after colliding
with a Cessna 172 while attempting to make a visual approach and landing
on runway 27 at San Diego's Lindbergh Field. The flight crew of the PSA jet
was blamed for failing to maintain visual separation with traffic which they
had report in-sight. An anonymous North Park, California resident describes
what it was like as the fully loaded 727 crashed into his neighborhood.
Southwest Airlines Flight 1455
This Boeing 737-300 crash-landed while landing at Burbank, California after a series of errors made by the flight crew on approach led to a landing at nearly 60 knots above the prescribed touchdown speed. Passenger Parker Moon describes the accident in this eyewitness account.
TAME Flight 422
This Boeing 727-230 crashed shortly after takeoff from El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia on April 20, 1998 after the flight crew failed to properly execute the required departure procedure from the airport. Bogota resident Camilo Perdomo gives us his recollection of the accident as he saw it.

Flight 232
This DC-10-10 crash-landed at the Sioux City
Gateway Airport in Iowa after an uncontained engine failure. The shrapnel
from the explosion tore through all of the aircraft's hydraulic lines rendering
the flight controls useless. Captain Al Haynes, who was in command of the
flight, recounts the events that happened that day.
